Summer in Lofoten
If you’ve ever stood in Lofoten in summer and thought, “This light just doesn’t quit,” you’d be absolutely right… and now we’re leaning fully into it.
For summer 2026, our Road Trip to Reine will run twice daily, giving you more flexibility and a completely different experience depending on when you go.
Choose Your Perfect Time of Day
From 25 May to 2 August, we’ll be running:
08:30 departure (our classic tour, running all year)
15:30 departure (new for summer, designed for late-day magic)
Same iconic route, same jaw-dropping scenery… but the feeling? Completely different.
The Magic of Late Summer Light
Let’s talk about that 15:30 departure, because this is where things get seriously good.
Summer afternoons in Lofoten are something else. The sun hangs low, the light softens, and everything starts to glow. Those famous locations like Hamnøy, Sakrisøy, and Reine don’t just look good, they come alive.
You get:
Warmer tones across the mountains
Softer shadows, perfect for photography
That golden, never-ending evening vibe
It’s the kind of light photographers chase all over the world… and here, it just casually shows up every day.
A Slightly Different Rhythm
The later departure is designed to flow with the evening atmosphere.
Unlike the morning tour, we won’t stop for lunch at Anita’s Seafood. Instead, we keep things flexible with time in Reine for:
Snacks
Coffee
Drinks with a view (arguably the best kind)
It’s more relaxed, more spontaneous, and perfectly suited to those long summer evenings where nobody’s checking the time anyway.
Same Iconic Lofoten Experience
Whichever departure you choose, you’ll still experience:
The full scenic drive along the E10
The most photographed locations in Lofoten
Small group guiding with time to actually enjoy each stop
Photography advice if you want it, or just space to take it all in
This is still the classic Lofoten journey, just with a new summer twist.
Make the Most of the Midnight Sun Season
Summer in Lofoten isn’t just about one tour, it’s about stacking unforgettable moments.
Alongside the Road Trip to Reine, we also run:
Midnight Magic during the midnight sun, when the sun never sets and the landscapes glow through the night
Lofoten Wildlife Safari, where we head out into the evening in search of moose, eagles, and whatever else decides to show up (sunset included, if we’re lucky)
So whether you’re chasing golden light, midnight sun, or wildlife encounters, there’s something happening pretty much around the clock.
More Flexibility, Same Adventure
Running two departures isn’t just about convenience, it’s about giving you options.
Early riser? Go classic.
Prefer a slow morning and a glowing evening? The 15:30 is your new best friend.
Either way, you’re getting Lofoten at its absolute best.
